Some paths are quiet. And that is precisely where their power lies. The Rastenbachklamm gorge begins almost on the doorstep of the Haus am Hang - and yet leads step by step out of everyday life. Wooden walkways, steps, cool shade. The sound of the water sets the rhythm, the view of Lake Kaltern opens up the space. Breathe in. Breathe out. Walk on. Golden gravel kilometres with a view of the lake

October is our favourite time for road and gravel biking. Not because it's faster - but because it's nicer. In spring, you want to tear it up, but your fitness is often still in hibernation. In summer, it's time to start early before the sun burns mercilessly. And in autumn? You set off after breakfast. Without stress. Without the feeling of missing something. Less traffic, warm colours, clear air. Short-short on the climbs, a change of jersey and a thin jacket for the descent. Perfect.

In the morning, when the sun rises over the Leuchtenburg, the world is still soft. The muscles are drowsy, the body warm from the night. And then - very slowly - you glide into the water.
