A piece of infinity in the house on Slope

L'infinito: Where water becomes a view
and the day remains open

In the morning, when the sun rises over the Leuchtenburg, the world is still soft. The muscles are drowsy, the body warm from the night. And then - very slowly - you glide into the water. A few long strokes. Pleasantly warm. A rhythm that immediately calms you down. As the first few strokes clear your head, you realise that nothing is important up here except the moment. Afterwards, the vitality breakfast awaits on the panoramic terrace - with a view of the vastness and that special holiday feeling that the day is not full, but open. L'infinito accompanies you throughout the day: in the morning, at lunchtime, in the afternoon - and sometimes until after dinner.

The day finds its rhythm

Later in the morning, you settle in by the pool - like a favourite spot. Panoramic lounger or daybed, towel tucked in, holiday book open. New chapters, new thoughts. The smell of sun cream is in the air, the scent of summer. At lunchtime, hunger strikes: a plate of pasta, a cool drink. Maybe a dip in the water before - or after.

Between MENDEL and heaven

Things get lively in the afternoon. People laugh, splash around, chill out - often with an aperitif in hand, feet in the water, the view somewhere between the Mendel Mountains and the sky. Some go for another swim in the evening when the sun is lower in the sky. And at the height of summer, the children like to jump in again after dinner - as if the day wasn't over yet.

It is feeling.“

A pool that is more than just a pool

Where water, space and time come together

L'infinito is an overflow pool - with a fine line at the edge where the water and the horizon seem to merge. You sit at the edge of the pool, arms in the warm water, and watch. When someone quietly swims their laps or the wind ruffles small waves, they disappear at the edge as if they were running into nothingness. The infinity effect is not just technology here. It is a feeling. It makes things quieter, wider, calmer.

A pool has always been part of our house. The first one was built on this very spot back in 1973 - measuring 16 × 6 metres, a far-sighted idea for those times. This size has remained the same. And it is still just right today: big enough to swim laps and really swim. Manageable enough to preserve space, peace and space. A pool doesn't just give you space - it gives you time. And thoughts.

From up here, the view opens up to the South Tyrolean lowlands, Leuchtenburg Castle on the Kaiserberg and across to the Mendel Mountains. You can count peaks, observe clouds and discover figures in the tree formations. Even as a child, I used to lie here and imagine little worlds. That's exactly what still happens today: the pool is not just water. It is a place where thoughts have space again.

From the very beginning, it was important to us to think about this place in a resource-saving way. Standardised materials, little sealing, lots of greenery. The water is treated using membrane salt electrolysis - with no chlorine odour and no stinging in the eyes. Solar and photovoltaic systems support heating and operation, and the electricity comes from South Tyrolean hydropower. The pool is covered at night so that the heat stays where it belongs.

Enjoyment by the pool - uncomplicated

We regularly come by the pool and are happy to take your orders: a good glass of wine - perhaps from the vines above you. A crispy farmer's toast after a swim. A signature sundae from our patisserie. Or an aperitif to get you in the mood for the evening. And if you want to enjoy the special evening atmosphere as a couple: a digestivo by the floodlit pool, followed by a short stroll through our garden.

FAQ block

Questions that arise - like the water itself

Is the pool heated?

Heated - to a pleasant 30 °C. So warm enough to let go, not to run away.

When are you allowed to jump in - and how long do you stay in?

Daily from 06:30 to 22:00. In summer, even earlier and longer - and with very little clock-watching.

Water bomb?

Let's put it this way: joy yes, explosion no. Consideration makes the pool nicer for everyone.

How deep is the water? Can you stand?

The pool is 1.50 metres deep - all the way through. Standing is not really an option, floating, swimming and floating all the better.

Water rat or water mat?

Both are welcome. Whether you want to swim laps or drift along at a leisurely pace - everyone will find their own speed here.

How big is the pool?

16 × 6 metres. Large enough for real swimming strokes. Manageable enough for peace and quiet.

Is the pool also suitable for children?

Yes - thanks to the beach function. Even if you can't stand, getting in feels smooth and safe.

Are there daybeds and comfortable loungers?

Yes - 5 daybeds and lots of generously padded loungers, some with sun canopies. The hardest part: deciding where to sit.

Shade or sun - what's more?

Both. Natural shade is provided by palm trees and vines.

And if I want sun? Lots of sun.

No problem. The yoga and sun deck is made for just that.

And in the evening - can you just stay?

Absolutely. When the water becomes quiet and the garden glows softly, walking feels wrong anyway.

First feel, then let yourself drift

One foot in the water, toes briefly checking the temperature. No jump, no speed. The moment is somewhere between inside and outside. Relaxation doesn't happen at the touch of a button in the house on the slope. It comes naturally. Between the vines and the expanse, in the warm water, on a lounger in the garden. Those who allow themselves to drift quickly realise that the day can slow down here. And that's exactly where the art lies. Inside and outside, there is space to hang out, take a deep breath and let go - without a plan, but with feeling.

hike first, then SEEWIESN

The Seewiesn with Hofschank is a quiet natural jewel directly on Lake Kaltern - embedded in a protected biotope and characterised by genuine restraint. As little infrastructure as necessary so that pastures, reeds and landscape can take effect. Tall trees provide shade, thoughts become light. Karlheinz serves home-made delicacies from his own garden. And from the jetty, the path leads directly into the warm, clear water of the warmest bathing lake in the Alps.
