THE HAUS AM HANG BLOG
Weird stories! In words, pictures and videos
at home in the future.
Hello, we're delighted that you've landed on our blog. Here we tell stories from the Haus am Hang - insights that otherwise remain hidden from our guests. Are you coming on this journey with us?
Water. Forest. Vision.
Rastenbach Gorge
Some paths are quiet. And that is precisely where their power lies. The Rastenbachklamm gorge begins almost on the doorstep of the Haus am Hang - and yet leads step by step out of everyday life. Wooden walkways, steps, cool shade. The sound of the water sets the rhythm, the view of Lake Kaltern opens up the space. Breathe in. Breathe out. Walk on. Here, hiking is not a task, but a state: decelerated, light, clear. A round for mind and heart. Without haste. Without having to. Just walk - and arrive.

Golden gravel kilometres with a view of the lake
October is our favourite time for road and gravel biking. Not because it's faster - but because it's nicer. In spring, you want to tear it up, but your fitness is often still in hibernation. In summer, it's time to start early before the sun burns mercilessly. And in autumn? You set off after breakfast. Without stress. Without the feeling of missing something. Less traffic, warm colours, clear air. Short-short on the climbs, a change of jersey and a thin jacket for the descent. Perfect.

A piece of infinity in the house on the hillside
The new l'infinito pool
In the morning, when the sun rises over the Leuchtenburg, the world is still soft. The muscles are drowsy, the body warm from the night. And then - very slowly - you glide into the water. A few long strokes. Pleasantly warm. A rhythm that immediately calms you down. As the first few strokes clear your head, you realise that nothing is important up here except the moment.

Schlutzkrapfen instead of bedtime.
Helga cooks with heart
If you know how to cook with joy, it tastes different. Sometimes it's already late. But then someone comes in. A guest who has been travelling all day. Perhaps travelled a long way. Maybe back from the mountain too late. Maybe just hungry - and happy to finally be here.
